Welcome to the new site!

We finally got it done! Whaddaya think? If you like it, then all credit goes to my patient and creative friends Tom and Emily. I think they did a fantastic job and I'm endlessly grateful. If you disagree, then perhaps you just might want to click here.

Have a look around, send along any suggestions, and, of course, update your RSS reader with the new feed.

Come back often, leave comments, tell your friends, tell your enemies, tell your neighbors, tell your boss (who surely wouldn't mind that you're reading this at work), tell your extended families. Tell people you love, and also those you've become estranged from. Then get on with your life.

P.S. I'll leave this post up top for most of the day with the hope that many, many, many people will subscribe to the feed and bookmark the site.

Update: In answer to some questions and criticisms:

  • The feed will be full shortly, and will likely stay that way.

  • The blogroll--which will grow--works in two ways. Expanded, it lists every site in alphabetical order. Currently when it's shrunk, it lists 10 sites at random. It will soon list the 10 most recently updated blogs on the list--good for quick access to fresh content (props to Tom for writing that code). Favoritism only for the productive!

  • The picture... has little real relevance. I snapped it in Buenos Aires--at Recoleta Cemetery--in April of this year and thought it pretty. It's an angel as seen reflected through a weathered pane of glass. I picked the blog's colors myself, and my consultant-friends and I decided that, of all my pictures, this one best matches the template.

So there you have it. I'll be back up and blogging later today after this (somewhat tedious) day of self-promotion is over.

Comments

Wow, it's really annoying that you only can get partial feeds.

I'll annoy YOU!

Much appreciated. Looks great.

Yeah, I have to agree. Partial feeds are teh lame. Your new site, however, is delightful, despite the grotesque omission of Grist from your blogroll.

And no sooner does he leave the comment than he sees Grist on the blogroll and retreats in shame, having added dimwittery to the sin of narcissism.

The feeds are only partial? Bleh. I guess having the comment link at the top of an article instead of at the end (so you could, you know, read the article before commenting) won't be annoying me. I'll never remember to come here, 'cause I'll never see any stories to remind me of your existence.

Sniff. GBCW.

Very nice! Partial feeds not so much. An astrophysicist! (Fly Me to the Moon...)

Pretty! Congratulations!

If you really want credit to go to Tom, perhaps you should give his URL correctly....

Thanks Vance!

Looks good.

I agree with the other commenters—partial feeds are a deal-breaker for me as a reader.

Full feed is coming!
